Traditional English Guy Fawkes night... yesterday was fine and clear.
Today it's windy and chucking down rain. The fire won't light until
someone has committed suttee with a can of petrol. Everyone is shivering
in the doorway for shelter except the poor bastard who's volunteered to
light the fireworks. Keep your hand over your drink, or it will fill up
faster than you can empty it. Those few rockets that will light take off
at 45 degrees, but still disappear into the clouds before exploding.
The next day is bright and clear...
