|Bell 202 [asynchronous 1200 baud FSK] modem transmitter.
|Offhand, I don't know the data encoding format, I suspect that it is ASCII,
|but who knows. Heh, heh... since they unabashedly plagiarized the modem
|technology from the Bell 202 modem, they may have had a relapse and got a
|case of NIH when they came up with the data encoding.??? Out East here,
|BellSouth actually has created and market a service ["Caller ID Deluxe"]
|that will supply the name, and address information of the caller as well as
|the calling number. They look up the user data in their AIN SCP data bases.
|I am sure that Telcordia Technologies [aka Bellcore] has a complete *spec*

I have a Dialogic D/4pci card at my disposal (it cost me US$500), so
maybe I can simply record and play back the tones. But the card can
read caller-ID *and* DTMF... it might be better to re-synthesize the
