Most, not worth installing in a PC, are of the vintage where
installing a play button is the norm. Of the dozed or so CD-ROM drives
I have about, only two have a paly button, one being a somewhat recent
BTC drive, the other an NEC (which almose always have at least play
buttons, and maybe even more functionality as an audiob CD player,
such as mine)

If you are hunting, why not be done with it and get an actual CD
