Oh, you know, space modulators. Mind control flashlights, dirty socks
disguised as space monsters.

Because we're the guys they come to to design it and we know that WE don't
know how to do it!! You see, the buck really has to stop someplace. Some of
the very few people like us who just look like a bunch of weird guys off
the street outside that you see everywhere are the ones who actually really
do design EVERYTHING THAT WORKS!
Even for the military, everybody thinks they are "secret", but they have
virtually NO research arm of their own, it is ALL done by delegated
commercial vendors and the contract process. Even as politically dangerous
as *I* sound, I have once or twice been bound by the national security act's
secrets provision to keep my mouth shut for a while about something that
seems trivial to me, but that's how it's all done. Most engineers in
design work have that happen if their company bids on that stuff. But it's
NEVER something that would do anything that YOU'RE afraid of!! it's always
the frequency for something used on aircraft carriers or the kind of a
stub used in a cavity oscillator, nothing amazing or "nasty". It's always
perfectly sensible just to keep our adversaries in the world from building
their own or making ours useless. Etc. It isn't now and NEVER HAS BEEN
anything to use on our own PEOPLE! So go back to bed!

No, you're just a delusional wacko who doesn't know enough to know that the
fiction you read is different than the reality. This comes from human
specialization. Back when we used atlatls, if I told you that this one
other tribe had a magic way to make your shafts' feathers fall off you'd
think I was full of shit. Or maybe not, if you were superstitious, but at
least you'd think it was magic or religion, and you wouldn't believe that
there was any way using just non-magical methods to do that, because you
make your own shafts and you know how to keep your feathers on them just
as well as *I* do!
But nowadays you don't know what is really technologically possible and
what isn't, so you'll believe ANYTHING! The technology has totally gotten
away from you and you don't really know anymore where pure magical miracles
would have to cause something, or whether the guy down the street might be
able to do it with crap he bought at radio shack, so all you are is very
uninformed and confused.
You don't know where magic stops and reality begins anymore, and on top of
that you're a crank paranoid who thinks the govt or somebody is out to get
you! It doesn't even SEEM reasonable to you that they'd actually MUCH rather
go home and watch Leno and fuck the wife.
>And the trend still is to add more and more people to the macabre

As I said, you're a little nutcake and you've got an emotional problem.

No, that is called schizophrenia and it's inside your head.

You keep thinking that YOU'RE normal and YOU know that YOU don't have any
interest in staying up late nights conspiring against your neighbors down
the street, but you seem entirely incapable of believing the same of your
neighbors as you do of yourself, and that means you're a raving fucking
paranoid schizophrenic. Given the right drugs and you can probably live
a much more sane enjoyable life and stop being afraid and crazy.
Listen: Your notions how some "ENEMY" would "get you" are absurdly arcane
and baroque! If they REALLY wanted to get you they would knock on your
door and just shoot you through the head with a silencer, or poison your
food with a little ricin. It's MUCH cheaper than all this technical crap!
