I think the problem is that the government speaks with forked tongue.
Businesses really want those Mexicans in here for cheap labor with no
taxes or benefits. And both political parties go along, since
businesses really own the politics here.
If we were really serious we should simply land mine the border.
Trivial to do, most of it (at least in Arizona) is uninhabitable.
But the government would have to lay off thousands if there were no
longer immigration or drug problems. And we mistakenly allow welfare
recipients to vote ;-)
