www.qbasic.com has a 'tutorials' page (but that's sure not made for people
with C knowledge...)
If you know C then you sure know what 'portability' means... the site is
actually about the Qbasic (DOS, pre-Windows) compiler, but some tutorials
are surely about the 'basics of BASIC'...
