I work for a distributor who supports the SST range of serial flash..
SST have just released the SST25 serial SPI flash in a 8 pin SOIC or WSON
(I just did a presentation on them today!).
SPI can be clocked to 20MHz and has Auto Address Incement during programming
SST25VF010 1Mbit Available now
SST25VF020 2Mbit Available DEC 2002
SST25VF040 4Mbit due next year
SST25VF016 16Mbit (Due in 2004)
**** All inthe same 8 pin package types SOIC or WSON
OH, they also have the SST45SF010 1Mbit
