Wish I could get 20k USD for what appears to be a few weeks work!.
From what you describe there seems to be a software problem between the
prog' on the PC and the prog' running the serial coms? at the device end.
Before you take the claim to court, have you thought maybe to try and get
the engineer to openly state his side of the story here on SED?.
We're engineering people ourselves and would be interested in what in says.
Maybe even discover we had some sympathy with him!.
If he feels righteous then he's nothing to lose.
