I find that driving 7 segment displays is a bigger pain in the ass than
using an LCD, and can often work out to be more expensive. If you went
electronic the easiest way, certainly, of doing the speedo conversion is
with a micro. Get one with A/D and timer captures and you get to monitor
just about everything you want
