I read in sci.electronics.design that John Jardine

This is inaccurate and irresponsible advice you have been given. There
is, AIUI, a weak correlation between left-handedness and dyslexia, which
you don't appear to have. Other correlations are more or less equally
weak. The best recipe for a long life is to have long-lived relatives.

Being left-handed (which I'm not) is no more 'genetically abnormal' than
having blue eyes (which I had before they faded), and much more 'normal'
that having green or violet eyes (or eyes of different colour) or red
However, the weak correlation with dyslexia is also something associated
with 'left-brainedness', and that does predispose to technical rather
than, or in addition to, artistic subjects.
