| Two reasons. One is that I was hoping the little sync box I
| make would be cheaper than a half dozen times $15 per slave. This
| important to me. The other is that a half dozen cheap used
| together, with fast film, could give me a flash range of 200 feet
| beyond. But the description of an optical slave I saw said it had
| of 60 feet, so I'm not sure they would even trigger in that event.
| I have bought a slave and may buy some more, because I also want
| able to do flashes from multiple angles. But I worry about
| when larger distances are involved.

You could use slave triggers as long as there is less than 60ft
between each, with care and a little luck they will all fire in
sequence. I would guess only say <50 micro-secs delay each, they
will all be fired in plenty of time. Shutter will be open say 10
milli-secs on X sync, enough time for say 200 flashes in sequence.
