Just as a matter of policy on this unit, I have made the conscious decision
to go for three/ four state charging. Discharge(for NICAD only), bulk
charge, top-off and trickle. This will ensure that we have met all the real
requirements and will avoid the potential for criticism at a later date if
some bright spark asks why it was not designed like this. You may wish to
let David know.
On another detail, there might be some mileage in seeing if the four ORION
chargers can act as a supplementary chargers to the CADS one (ie. operating
in parallel slaves) to save on parts cost. This only comes about because the
need to operate both chargers simultaneously has gone away. I won't be
spending much time on this but it could go this way during development.
