I'm sorry I can't help out here very much but there must be a lot of stuff
out there on Biofeedback because that is the approach you are looking for.
It's an active area of research today. In the future there will be no limits
to the control we will acheive over our bodies.
As a matter of fact I was just looking at a programme on the Discovery
Channel about using Biofeedback to control for example Migraine and many
other forms of pain as well. Try finding out something about The Biofeedback
Society of California. I'll bet there is something about this institution on
You might also be interested in trying to find out more about the sport of
Free Diving. Free Divers acheive spectacular control over their bodies that
enables them to free dive to frightenening depts without the use of any
equipment. It's a pity though that the ability to free dive is a gift you
are probably born with and therefore know how to do just like the top class
experts in this group have a natural gut feeling for electronics. One can
learn to hold ones breath but there would be limits on how long an
individual could do this varying as it would from individual to individual.
See if you can find something on the www about Candace Pert Ph.D. from the
Georgetown Medical Centre(in Washington?)
Also try looking up stuff about neurofeedback. I'm sure there are circuits
out there for EEG's(electroencephalograms) which is what you are looking
for. Try the mighty www.google.com
If there is a centre using Biofeedback in your area then go there. We have a
Biofeedback clinic here in Dublin in one of the bigger hospitals and there
is an excellent chance there is a similar outfit near you.
I wish you the best of luck and advise you to ignore the cretins who replied
to you in this thread. Their brains are noisy places.
