I used to test my experimental low power transmitters by sticking them
out in the garden. For some reason it just sounds really nice having a
microphone in amongst the wildlife.
I toyed with the idea of a solar powered wildlife transmitter, but
decided that the frequency drift as the battery ran down could cause
interference with commercial radio channels in the direct neighbourhood.
