New Program " STUBTUNE.exe "
This program assists with the design of stub-line transformers used for such
purposes as matching the feedpoint impedance of balanced radio antennas to
the Zo impedance of the transmission line from the transmitter. This program
is applicable only to balanced-pair lines. Transmission efficiency theough
the transformer is calculated.
It is an improved version of program STUMATCH.exe in that it takes into
account conductor loss in the transformer and is therefore more accurate
when extreme ratios of (Antenna Impedance)/(Feedline Zo) are involved.
Operating procedure is more complicated than STUMATCH. However it performs
calculations beyond the facilities offered by the Smith Chart,
The program is peculiar in that the Zo of the feedline is not entered. All
input data is variable in small up/down increments until the input impedance
of the transformer is equal to the Zo of the line to be matched.
Educational.
STUBTUNE is self-contained in one small file, download in a few seconds from
website below, run immediately.
