I am building a scalextric race track with my son and would like to add some
to the layout
I was thinking of a lap counter using two seven segement leds
The laps would be counter when the car passes under a bridge that has a IR
diode which is
shining down on an IR detector. When the beem is broken then counter
It should also have a reset switch to set the count back to 0
Also a starting circuit that would have four or five leds one red, two or
three yellow and one green.
When a switch is pressed the leds would light in succession from red to
green, then turn off.
If possible the time between the push of the switch and the lighting of the
leds should be different each time so that the driver does not know the time
to start the car.
If it is not to much trouble could this be coupled to IR detector so that if
the green led is not alight when the beem is broken the the starting leds
remain on indicating the driver jumped the start.
This is most probaly faily simple to you guys but I only have a basic
Thanking you in advance
