**I had no idea Englishmen were so concerned about the term. Most, I've
spoken to, are not bothered by it. However, I can understand your feelings,
though I am immune to most of the Aussie barbs, which abound these parts.

**When I have used the term, I have done so, simply because there is less
typing involved and, I suspect, it confuses Americans (and that can't be a
bad thing, nor all that difficult, for that matter). For my part, I have
never used it in a derogatory sense, unless it is deserved. The term: 'Pommy
bastard', f'rinstance, is actually one of endearment, not scorn.
