It is your opinion it is stupid or oppressive.
Most laws concerning the safety of individuals are opposed by those who
cause the laws in the first place.
It was the govenment and not the car makers responsible for seat belts,
decent brakes and any number of other things that have reduced fatalities on
"Snip" which is what car and tobacco people did with the reasons such issues
