Nope. It depends entirely on the class of wire. For a solid wire,
you would be correct, but for a 41 strand wire, the amount of silver
would likely be slightly higher, and the subsequent resistance,
slightly lower. Either way, it should scale equally as the wires do
so as well... together, if they are of the same construction class.
I'll take another quick gander...
It comes out to 98.257%, A slightly smaller difference.
This is for 8 14 gauge strands, which is as close to #2 as I could
approximate. The data for copper is there, but the data for the
silver plated media stopped at #14. I figured the strand count for #2
wire from that.
2 14s is an 11
4 14s is an 8
6 14s is a #5
8 14s is a #2
A fine strand wire of 41 strand count would give exceptional
performance at the near zero volt use he desires.
Using a solid copper wire of the same gauge would likely drop more
of that barely available voltage, and warm more as well.
I don't know why the guy just does't make a DC to DC converter
that sustains a voltage setpoint throughout its range of use.
Feed it 28 or 30 volts from the battery packs to make 24
Or make a step up converter from a lower more realistic loaded
Even the slot car race boys have this stuff down. He should consult
