I intend to build a few (less than 5) and I have a low budget (less
than 100$ per unit lower; cheaper be better).
I was thinking to use a circuit built on a photo transistor (with a
lens), an op-amp and a 567 tone decoder for detection and a 555 driven
LED projected on a wall(using a lens)as target. This type of circuit
is used (in reverse) by "laser tag" games. They use infrared and
pretty good range (more than I need). Is this scheme workable?
The other option that I was thinking about is based on color detection
but I never saw circuits for this.
