He's talking about your newsreader recognizing that you've read a
cross-posted article in another newsgroup already and marking it as
read in all newsgroups. Since all good newsreaders should do this,
crossposting to *appropriate* newsgroups is a Good Thing IMHO. It also
keeps the replies together so similar replies don't show up in
three different newsgroups. The different perspectives can sometimes
lead to a useful and lively discussion. Of course this all works
against us when it's a troll, but for legitimate posts it works
