There's a great Persian restaurant right near the Iranian embassy.
Some fun, relatively cheap, Middle-eastern ones near Marble Arch
that are open really late. Great Indian ones all over. I can't
speak from personal experience on the Michelin star level Continental
ones, but I'm told they are innovative, good, and very enjoyable if
you have an expense account.
OTOH, I invariably find the pub food disappointing as well as
expensive, and the fish and chips is often not great, though we did
once find one that was really good but rather expensive (and had a
pretty affluent clientelle judging by the patrons' cars). I suppose
I'll have to try the fish and chip pizza some time just out of morbid
curiosity, like the schmaltz in Germany.
There's always the fresh sandwiches at Marks and Sparks Food Hall.
Now I've got a craving for a cheese chutney sandwich, and we're out of
"it's the network..." "The Journey is the reward"
