Plugged that puppy into the circuit and the voltage drop went
practically to zero! Way better than the IRFZ48. I am a little
concerned about the max Vds being only 20V but the most it could ever
see even with the battery charger on equalize is 16V so I guess I am
safe. It is best to turn off all the breakers when equalizing anyway.
There is always the possibility of a lightning strike but I doubt I will
worry about $6 worth of chips with a few thousand dollars worth of other
marine electronics fried. :-)
