My wife is a speech pathologist and works a lot with autistic kids,
ranging from mild Asperger cases to severe full-blown autism. She does
think that a lot of engineers and programmers are borderline; notably
Bill. Autistics are often talented sociopaths.
There is an explosion in autism... a factor of something like 5:1 in
the last 10 years or so, and it appears to be real. Nobody knows why.
