It looks to those in the know as if they were caught in acts of wrong doing not made public and fled their positions to avoid being pursued. In this scene, looks are not deceiving. Jansen's sudden resignation into the private sector is the latest in a series of resignations that date back nearly four years in Omaha, NE. The Douglas County Prosecutor's Office is the public entity responsible for prosecuting the state of Nebraska's felonious and many misdemeanor cases for the state's largest city, Omaha. Jansen's unexpected resignation announcement followed the resignation of Omaha Police Officer Todd Sears, whom Jansen declined to prosecute for the shooting death of an unarmed Omaha man and Gulf War Veteran. Sears was recently granted a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder related permanent disability pension in that case. Prior to Sears' pension request, four former Omaha fire chiefs requested but were denied disability pension requests do to unspecified health ailments incurred during their careers with the Omaha Fire Division. The ranking man of the group, Chief Paul Wagner, immediately took a position with the Papillion, Nebraska Fire Department following his disability denial. Prior to all of this, Omaha Police Officer Jerad Kruse was granted a disability pension for his killing of yet another unarmed Omaha resident following a police chase. The story doesn't begin or end there. Years earlier, then top Douglas County District Judge Michael McGill suddenly resigned to take a position in the private sector as well. McGill suddenly quit his position as the top judge in the state of Nebraska's largest city to take a position with Boys Town, a nationally renowned institution that helps troubled and delinquent boys and girls in Nebraska. But that is only the public side of these stories. There is much, much more going on inside the judicial machine at the City of Omaha, Nebraska, and it's all bad. This most recent sudden resignation by Jansen makes one wonder what the punishment is for public officials found to be involved with organized crime and/or committing other criminal acts? Did Jansen resign due to his failure to prosecute an Omaha police officer accused of murdering an unarmed man? Two Omaha police officers accused of the same? Perhaps Jansen resigned for his failure to release details of the Grand Jury finding in the incident? Perhaps Jansen resigned due to his failure to prosecute not only criminal police officers, but failure to prosecute other criminals due to his being the puppet of the Omaha Police Division? Receive any anonymous letters indicating the criminal activities of career criminals in Omaha, Nebraska lately, Jim Jansen? One this is for certain. With the current state of affairs in the Omaha, Nebraska, area, no public official in the local judiciary will EVER be brought to justice for his/her wrong doing. They are all above the law as are their informants and supporters in the community who use their power and positions as a weapon to protect both themselves and their supporters. How close are you to certain Omaha attorneys including Anthony Troia, Jim? Too close? How about your relationship with the Omaha Fire and Police Divisions? I haven't heard of a successful prosecution of an Omaha fighter for some time. I have NEVER heard of a successful prosecution of an Omaha police officer that was not later overturned on a technicality to allow the officer to return to duty. Something stinks in Omaha, Nebraska. And the smell is coming from the Douglas County Courthouse and the private law offices that surround it. The same stink can be smelled coming from the headquarters of the Omaha Police Division and Omaha Fire Divisions which are much too close to the judiciary, both figuratively and literally. Birds of a feather. Apparently, history doesn't teach the heroes of police work and the fire service much, the judiciary either. It's the cover-up that ALWAYS gets you busted. No one deserves to be brought to justice more. So keep on covering up, you will get what you deserve. Maybe Jim Jansen will receive an anonymous letter offering him farewell? Then I bet you he reads it and takes it seriously. Then again, that would be a first. Perhaps his predecessor will receive an anonymous letter indicating Jansen's criminal activities and he can represent himself in court as do all the really smart lawyers in Omaha. After all, it's the attorneys in Omaha, Nebraska that know perfectly that you can't trust another attorney in Omaha, Nebraska.
