The Captain, who cooperated with investigators and ratted out all his coconspirators including his Florida supplier, was sent to federal prison. But between the time he was convicted of being the king pin in one of Omaha Nebraska's largest cocaine trafficking operations ever, he managed to persuade the Omaha Personnel Board to grant him a disability pension due to what he claimed were fire service related injuries. That can't be too tough. The Omaha Personnel Board is as sympathetic to its fire and police officers as any union could be. In fact, the union representing these men and women don't look out after the well being of fire fighters and police officers as well as the City of Omaha Personnel Board. The Omaha Fire Captain did not file his disability claim until after he was convicted of conspiring to distribute 50 pounds of cocaine in several year period and yet the pension was granted prior to his sentencing to federal prison. Recently, after serving his sentence in federal prison, the former Omaha Fire Division Captain has now requested his pension be increased from a partial disability pension to a full disability pension. The difference is estimated to be the difference in tax free income to this convicted criminal of about $1300.00 a month to near or over $5,000.00 a month. None of the addicts created and supplied by this fire Captain were ever given the same benefits nor were the tax payers of Omaha provided with input into the original pension granted to this convicted criminal. He was treated very well in prison as well. And you don't think fire fighters are crooked?
