All US citizens who are eligible to vote should be required to see
the pictures at the following two sites, so that they'll know what
their politicians have done with their (and future generations) tax
dollars. If the American people knew the horrific truth about the
Iraqi invasion/occupation - if the news media didn't sanitize war for
our "comfort" and showed the harsh realities of war, then the people
would be harshly opposed to war, and would demand non-violent
solutions to international disputes. Only the truth will set us free
from war, puppet tyrants like Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld, and out of control
Pictures of Destruction in Iraq
Few Americans know that our military uses radioactive depleted uranium
in their ammunition. It has a half-life of 4.1 billion years. The dust
from these shells has contaminated much of Iraq, many "coalition"
soldiers too. Total disintegration occurs after 25 billion years, the
age of the earth. There is much US/British propaganda stating that it
is harmless. The pictures at the web-light (link below) show how
'harmless' it is.
Mid-wives in Iraq have said that they used to look forward to births,
now, they don't, because they don't know what's going to come out.
The pictures below, which are extremely disturbing, show exactly what
When I was here [in Iraq] in January, there was a pervasive atmosphere
of discontent, frustration, and anger with the occupation. But most
people were still just trying to ride it out, stay patient, and hope
that things improved. The wanton brutality of the occupation has at
long last put an end to that patience.
Before, the occupation might have succeeded -- not in building real
democracy, which was never the goal, but in cementing U.S. control of
Iraq. It cannot succeed now. The resistance in Fallujah will be beaten
down, with the commission of more war crimes; if the United States
invades Najaf, it will be able to win militarily there as well. But
from now on, no military victory will make Iraqis stop resisting.

U.S. MPs Contaminated With Depleted Uranium Speak Out
A special investigation by Democracy Now! co-host Juan
Gonzalez of the New York Daily News has found four of nine soldiers of
the 442nd Military Police Company of the New York Army National Guard
returning from Iraq tested positive for depleted uranium
contamination. They are the first confirmed cases of inhaled depleted
uranium exposure from the current Iraq conflict.
After repeatedly being denied testing for depleted uranium from Army
doctors, the soldiers contacted The News who paid to have them tested
as part of their investigation.

"... one thing that [has] remained constant is the self-righteousness
of the American public discourse. We're back to faulting the natives
for their stubborn refusal to understand the purity of our hearts. And
hell hasn't seen the wrath of a heart-broken colonialist. Iraqis must
learn now, as did Native Americans, African slaves, Vietnamese and
Palestinian peasants, and many others, that ingratitude is a capital
American corporate news spreads White house and pentagon spin
- they can't be trusted. Their mission is to make lots of money and
maintain our corrupt economic and political systems, NOT to tell the
people the truth about what's going on. Only the truth will set us
free from tyrants, fear, and needless bloodshed.
