Operations Support Specialist. Reported to the IT Manager. Performed daily
AS/400 Administration and maintained Microsoft NT/Novell network of 200
users.
· Implemented the Harbinger Trustedlink for Windows EDI software and
hardware package as well as the Trustedlink AS/400 software and hardware
package for Senior Automotive allowing them to send and receive EDI with our
major customers such as GM, Ford, Caterpillar, and Cummins Engine.
- Greatly improved our communication supplier rating allowing our
business to bid for more contracts with these customers and increase profits
as their confidence grew in our abilities.
- EDI problems were reduced by 99% as a result of the Trustedlink
400 software being recommended and implemented.
· Piloted the RF scanning (Symbol Technologies) setup for our
facility. Managed the access points and scanner guns to greatly reduce the
time for workers to access inventory and to eliminate the need to manually
enter barcode numbers into our ERP system when shipping product.
· Instituted the CMS label verification system for Ford and GM
therefore eliminating the possibility of shipping incorrect product or
quantities to our customers.
· Implemented and maintained our Time and Attendance swipe card
software (Kronos) on the AS/400. This resulted in saving the company
countless supervisor man hours on manual entry of workers hours.
· Managed and maintained vendor access to our ERP system allowing
vendors to manufacture product to satisfy our production
requirements/schedules therefore staying ahead of customers demands and
providing on time deliveries.
· Implemented and maintained custom forms for Senior Automotive
using Create Form version 2.5 for the AS/400 to fully utilize the potential
of our ERP system.
· Installed and implemented Fax software on AS/400 allowing our
customer service, purchasing and accounting personnel access to a quick
method to send and receive critical day to day documents such as invoices,
purchase orders, and production schedules.
· Responsible for daily operations of AS/400 including IPL's,
backups, user profiles, active jobs, printing and faxing as well as
operating system upgrades, 3rd party software installs and PTF's and Cum's.
· Managed 10 IBM, Decision Data terminals along with laser and line
printers using Twin Ax and Ethernet cabling.
