This includes all levels of problem determination and resolution using various diagnostic equipment, and service provider resources to successful completion. · Assemble and update documentation in the form of trouble ticket logs, subscriber profiles, network diagrams, telecommunications billing, and monthly reports. · Provide technical assistance to all SunGard internal/external customers during circuit outages and installs. · Coordinate and plan network bandwidth scheduling, and testing with all internal/external customers of SunGard, as well as assisting all customer support efforts by any SunGard network engineering team. · Coordinate with network service providers to resolve outages and initial activation. · Provision network resources for internal/external SunGard customers to fulfill their communication needs via network management tools, and systems. · Have a base familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all SunGard internal/external customers. Review network requirements, diagrams, and test status. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments. · Assist in Implementing internal/external SunGard customers disaster recovery networks, with varying organizations within SunGard. · B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or work equivalent is required. · Min of 1 years experience in a Network control/management center or Central office environment highly preferred · Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, T3, T1/Frac-T1 and frame relay/IP networks. · Strong network troubleshooting skills are required. · Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (T1, T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM’s, fiber optics, router’s, and switches is desirable. · Working knowledge of network transition language (TL1) is required. · Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required. · Experience with a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment. · Technical knowledge & experience with various network protocols are required. · Knowledge & experience with PC LAN protocols and connectivity. · Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required. · Project management skills, and use of PM software are required. · Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently. · Shift work is required.
