With this world leader in the supply of Transport Control Equipment,
who continue to design and develop new and innovative products to
fulfil their customer's requirements for the latest control,
monitoring and communications equipment. Most of the products have
embedded microprocessors running a variety of real time operating
systems.
This key role is for a Hardware Group Leader to contribute to the team
and to supervise the existing hardware design team members. You will
be an established and enthusiastic electronic design engineer possibly
with some embedded software development experience. The role will be
hands-on, reporting to the Technical Manager.
Your key tasks will include some (and may be all) of the following:
Managing & planning the utilisation of the small hardware team;
Preparing project plans for development projects; Preparing progress
reports as necessary; Ensuring that design work is performed in
accordance with the company's ISO9001-2000 procedures; Developing new
/ modifying existing hardware designs; Specifying modifications to
the drawing office; Assisting in the preparation of production
documentation; Assisting in the preparation of user documentation;
Setting up demonstrations of final equipment; and Evaluating third
party equipment for potential integration.
Some experience of leading teams would be desirable.
Knowledge and experience of the following design and process areas
would be beneficial but not all are essential: Analogue design
(op-amps, filters, ADC/DAC, low noise techniques); Digital design
(including use of FPGA and PLD devices to 100MHz); Design with
microprocessors; Video circuit design; Conventional assembly; SMD
assembly; (Use of AutoCAD 2000); and (Use of Protel 99).
