With this growing, innovative company focusing on building the very
best GSM coverage solutions for companies in the Far East and US.
These key appointments are for Software Engineers to work on leading
edge GSM, EDGE & 3G products, developing products in real-time and
network management software in Java on Linux, Unix and Windows
platforms. As well as working on the full product lifecycle, the role
will involve occasional client visits within the UK and overseas,
possibly up to two weeks at a time.
With a good engineering degree (ideally a 2.1 but a 2.2 may be
considered) you will have development of real-time, multi-threaded,
event-driven software (including protocol message encoding/decoding
and finite state machines); 3+ years commercial C++ and Java
programming; Object-oriented design (including patterns), preferably
using UML; Development of Unix/Linux/Windows applications; Good
understanding of telecomms networks/signalling, preferably GSM but
could be other, such as DECT, TETRA, or fixed networks (SS7, ISDN,
Q.931, etc); Understanding of telecomms network management, including
manager-agent interaction, management object models and protocols;
Practical experience of using CORBA; Reading, understanding and
implementing telecomms standards (ETSI/ITU-T/IETF); and an
Understanding of IP networking.
