Five (5) years experience in business analysis and

Five (5) years experience generating requirements for
automation systems and business process improvement.
Five (5) years experience setting priorities and
managing the business aspects of a project to conclusion.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university
with a degree in a related field, such as computer science,
information systems, public administration or human services
or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Cancer Registry business functions and application
support computer systems.
Experience with state government, particularly with Texas.
Ability to use Access and Excel to query and analyze data
to assist in analysis and requirements generation.
Scope: The Client requires one Business Analyst to perform business
analysis services as required to facilitate the successful
completion of a project to extend the acquisition of cancer
surveillence information to pathology laboratories and
physicians. The project includes enhancements to business
processes and to the supporting computer applications.
Concurrently the worker will be performing business analysis
services in support of the operation and enhancement of the
current cancer surveillance business processes, some of which
will require enhancements to the same supporting computer
applications. Function as a facilitator for the Director and
the Business Project manager, resolving business issues related
to the project, developing detail plans from high level
plans, and coordinating business and software development
activities. Communicate and coordinate among the internal and
external business and user groups associated with the
project to analyze the ¡§as-is¡¨ business processes and to
define the ¡§to-be¡¨ business processes. Document both using
text descriptions and work flow diagrams. Communicate and
coordinate with development teams on generating requirements
and schedules; resolving issues; and reviewing, testing and
accepting deliverables. Assist in developing formal test plans
and documentation of the results. Set business priorities for
software developers who are working concurrently on the
extension project, current system operations support and other
enhancements to the system. Manage/ monitor those priorities
and document progress as required. Track and manage resolution
of business related issues and software defects. Conduct
effective working meetings and status meetings, create agendas,
and document results. Create or update business procedures and
other business documentation. Identify areas for future registry
business improvements and document the need. Communicates and
works with people of all technical levels in a team environment.
