Sales Specialist role is one of the best entry points into the

Retail Sales Specialist, your goal will be to promote and
increase the sales of our superior fiber cement products in Home
Depot and Lowe's stores within your territory. Compensation is a
stable base salary plus realistically attainable bonuses, with
full benefits.
Position Requirements:
*BS/BA
degree
*Desire to excel and interest in sales and/or building
materials
*Must have a good driving record, a personal
computer and credit card
*Experience in sales, retail,
construction, and/or building materials is desirable.
*Ability
to relocate immediately and be career oriented. Candidates must
be able to relocate for their first position. Please do not apply

*$30k base with incentive
bonuses of up to $10,000 (paid quarterly)

Position Details
As a Retail Sales Specialist, your mission will be to
promote and increase the sales of our fiber cement Hardiplank
siding and Hardibacker products in Home Depot and Lowe's stores
within your territory.
Our training will provide you with
an in-depth knowledge of our products and the stores you will be
servicing. It includes one week of field training with the
Regional Manager, another week with a Retail Sales Specialist
already operating in or around your territory, and a separately
scheduled third week at our corporate office and plant in
Southern California, where you will be provided with hands-on
training in the installation of both product lines. After that,
you'll work independently, operating out of your home office.
Other than a personal computer, we'll supply you with all the
essentials, including a handheld device, cell phone, fax,
printer, company van (including all maintenance and gas),
territory map, promotional materials, and - let's not forget - an
assortment of company polo shirts.
Most territories
include roughly 30 to 50 stores, and you should plan on visiting
four each day on average. Your agenda during these visits will be
two-fold:
1. To increase the sales of currently stocked
products.
Here you will:
* educate the store
employees, managers, department heads, customers and contractors
on why
James Hardie products are their best choice and
how to install them;
* merchandize the products;
*
analyze the competition;
* manage inventory levels;
*
conduct extensive product knowledge training, both one-on-one and
in
large group presentations;
* restock
Point-Of-Purchase materials;
* hang banners; and
* set up
displays.
Keys to Success
From Day 1, your goals
will be spelled out, and you'll know exactly what you need to do
to make your quarterly bonus. In addition to your regular duties,
you will prepare for advancement, taking classes and learning
what it takes to make it as a Pro Sales Representative (a more
polished role wherein you'll work directly with dealers, rather
than retail outlets). And your growth opportunities won't stop
there; from the Pro Sales Representative position, you'll
immediately start working towards a Regional Sales Manager,
corporate, or other role within the company. To aid your
progress, you will:
