Mary Caitrin Mahoney, the night manager who was shot five times, had been in
the first intern class of the Clinton White House. She was a lesbian
political activist, apparently idealistic and quite personable. As
Detective Traynor said on the program, the first suspicion of the police was
that it was some sort of crime of passion with Mahoney the primary intended
victim. And why shouldn't they think that? No money was taken and entry
was gained over an hour after the business had been locked for the night,
locked at its posted closing time. No physical evidence was ever found
linking Carl Derek Cooper to the crime.
Draw your own conclusions, but first you might want to read all my articles
on the subject and any others you might find by searching the Net.
