I just watched "The FBI Files" on the Discovery Channel and they had the
story of the Starbucks triple murders in DC that I discuss at
http://www.thebird.org/host/dcdave/article3/990831.html and with several
other articles on my web site (do search).
The cops have changed their story again. Detective James Traynor (sp?) said
that the bullet hole in the ceiling was over the safe, suggesting a warning
shot. This was the initial story, but as you can see from my article, that
story was later changed. Now they've changed it back.
Also, the final word before was that Carl Derek Cooper gained entrance to
the Starbucks just as it was closing. But now they admit that the killer(s)
gained entrance well after the store had closed and the door had been tested
by potential customers and found to be locked, while the workers were seen
cleaning up inside. So what do they say now: "We'll never know why the door
We will also have to wonder why the robber would show up to rob the place
over an hour after its announced closing time.
Finally, the program made no mention at all of the original intended fall
guy, "Boo" Covington. You'll have to read my article to learn about him.
They also never told us how Cooper said he disposed of the murder weapons,
weapons that were never found.
